Most famous of the red-fleshed peaches and ancestor of all those known in Europe. The Peches de Vigne have been grown for centuries at the edges of vineyards of southwestern France, often as living trellises to support the vines. Traditionally grown from seed, planted in the ground where the tree is desired to grow, ours is an elite clone, selected for high fruit quality. Fruits white almost covered with red, flesh incompletely colored purple. Juicy, with characteristic flavor of raspberry. For dessert and culinary use. Mid August. 800 hours. On Lovell.
