Peche de Nancy

Peche de Nancy

The ancestor of Royal, Blenheim, and Moorpark lines of modern apricots, raised from seed in XVIII century France and still the standard of excellence abroad for apricots. Fruits medium or larger in size, deep yellow, lacking much red pigment; flesh very juicy, seeming rather loose and coarse to those used to hard unripe supermarket apricots; flavor rich, the essence of apricot. Not a low-chill apricot, requires 800 hours for full bloom and fruiting. On Citation.
