Reine Claude d'Oullins
A natural, spontaneous chimaera of 'Lambert' that produces fruits of same size and season, but yellow inside and out, and a red to purple streak upon the suture, that extends through the flesh to the pit. Fruits are very large and of the great firmness associated with 'Lambert', ripens late, and because of its color, is generally missed by the birds. Tree is less vigorous than 'Lambert', and likewise produces fruits in singles and twos. Discovered as one mutant branch in Yakima in 1925 and preserved ever since, as a lucky find in the cherry orchard. Late July. 900 hours. On Mahaleb.
