Our latest apricot, ever. A sport of the classic 'Shipley's Blenheim', with the same form, a little less red blush, but very much later in season: end of July to early August. Discovered as a mutant branch at the Steindorf ranch, not very far from our own orchard, in the late 1940s, this is the most successful of the ultra-late apricot varieties. Flesh deep orange, sweet and juicy as for Blenheim, but be certain to leave the fruit alone to reach full ripeness. For an idea of its looks, see picture of 'Shipley's Blenheim.' 700 hours. Self fertile. On Citation.
