The most important of cling peaches in California agriculture, Tuskena (as often known as Tuscan Cling) was the standard peach for canning purposes during the years 1890 - 1940. It was also the earliest of clings, and its price at the canneries determined that for all other peaches of the season. Fruits are deep yellow, with slight red flush on shoulder, only medium sized; flesh deep orange, a little red at pit, dense, non-melting, long keeping, sweet, with the characteristic cling peach flavor. We offer Tuskena for those who have asked for a true canning peach of traditional type, and also for those who enjoy eating cling peaches out of hand. Late - end August. 750 hours. On Lovell.
