The first apricot designed for the Eastern states, 'Jerseycot' is planted wherever an apricot is desired, outside the usual zones of commercial production.  Notably hardy and an annual producer of medium sized, semifreestone fruits, deep orange when ripe, juicy and with a good aroma described as melon-like.  A product of Rutgers University station of Cream Ridge, of Scout and Phelps ancestry for hardiness.  A commercial variety in the East.  NJA44.  Early July.  650 hours.  On Myro 29c.
