For many years the earliest commercial peach, grown in California, south of France, Spain and North Africa, created by Armstrong Nurseries in the late 1940s and perhaps their most profitable invention. Fruits are usually pointed, skin white with deep red splashes, high fuzz; flesh white, semifreestone, somewhat coarse but sweet and refreshing, not low-acid. Its season varied according to location, early May in Orange County, end of May in our own orchard, still the earliest peach we grow. Tends to be overproductive and must be thinned as early as possible (Feb - March) to assure fruit reaches good size. 250 hours. On Nemagard.
