The earliest of the purple Asian Plums. Nearly identical to 'Santa Rosa' in looks and taste, but ripening at least ten days earlier, this is recommended for those who appreciate the aroma and uses of 'Santa Rosa' and would like to enjoy it over a longer season. Long, cordate fruit, skin entirely purple, clingstone, flesh amber flushed with pink, not so tart as 'Santa Rosa' but even juicier. Extraordinarily productive and never misses a crop here. Should be rigorously thinned to preserve the branches and a sweet crop. Self-fertile. Mid June. 300 hours. On Myro 29c.
