The pale-colored Col de Dame Blanche has the same history as Col de Dame Noire, is more commonly planted in Spain than elsewhere and is not well known in North Africa. It is reputed to be native of Spain. Grown also in Italy and south of France.

Tree upright and fast grower, very productive. Fruits elongated into a neck towards stem, hence the name, glossy, green, flesh strawberry or darker, sweet. No brebas. Midseason, month of September.

The common fig of the Balearic Islands: Mallorca and Minorca, where it serves an important role in the agricultural economy, feeding man and beast alike, and for dried fruit exports to the mainland.
