Col de Dame Noire

The cosmopolitan Cols de Dame appear in black and green forms, common in the western Mediterranean countries, in their national languages: Cuello de Senora negra, Col di Signora nera .... This, the dark skinned Col de Dame, is especially appreciated in North Africa from time immemorial.

Characteristic prolonged neck to the fruit, hence the name. No brebas produced, midseason, highly productive. Ribbed, pale violet skin; flesh deep strawberry, sweet and highly commended for fresh eating.
