A XIX Century American peach, still grown today for its demonstrated resistance (not immunity) to leaf curl, a fungal disease of peaches. A yellow-fleshed peach of the Crawford type, some red at the pit; sweet but not highly aromatic. Recommended for North Coast areas of lingering rainfall that enjoy some heat during summer, as fruits will not sweeten satisfactorily along the immediate coast. Begin August. 800 hours. On Lovell.
