Gialla di Padova

Regular price $28.00 Sale

Perhaps the most ancient of surviving nectarine varieties, Gialla di Padova was perhaps the first smooth-skinned peach or nectarine known in the western world. Recognized in the paintings of the Medici fruit varieties by Bartolomeo Bimbi in the XVII century, because of its characteristic lemon-yellow skin and flesh. Refreshingly high acid for a fruit that ripens in the warmest period of summer. Fruits only medium in size, prolific but susceptible to fruit fungi in humid climates. End August. 800 hours. On Lovell.
