This modest-sized white peach is nearly unique for its absence of red internal pigment, for which it is singularly suited for making of white peach preserves, that will not discolor. Excellent as a fresh fruit, essential for peach cookery, skin much colored with red, outstanding sweetness, low acid, characteristic clear aroma unlike any other. Its story is no mystery: a chance seedling from the farm of J. M. Mack in Winsted, Litchfield County, Connecticut, circa 1915; was introduced to France and Australia, in both places it was a more important commercial peach than in the USA. Late July. 800 hours. On Lovell.
