The first release from the home garden hybridizing program of California Rare Fruit Growers, Santa Clara Valley chapter: a yellow fleshed, richly flavored August peach suitable for the Bay Area climates. Skin yellow, marked with purple, flesh purple around the pit; hugely productive, needing thinning; flavor high in sugar and closely so in acid, approximating Rio Oso Gem but ripens two weeks earlier. A worthy contribution to the home orchard and for trial in all Californian climates. Early August. 700 hours by current trial, may require less chill. On Lovell.
