Long the standard of excellence for European apricots, Moorpark produces a modest crop of highest quality: massive fruits with deep orange flesh, sweet, with characteristic "Moorpark" flavor, not found in other apricots. Later in season, ripens after Blenheim and Royal are gone. Reputed to be a seedling of Hemskerk, arising on the Moor Park estate of Admiral Anson, Hertfordshire, in 1760. Mid July. 850 hours.
