A dual-purpose, ornamental fruit tree. Saturn was selected both for its fruits of high quality and for its spectacular display of double, deep pink flowers in early spring. A product of Armstrong Nurseries in the 1940s, Saturn produces slightly flattened, yellow fruits brushed with red and a decided nipple at apex. Flesh is highly juicy, sweet with a little acid, red around the freestone pit. Late midseason, early to mid August. 300 hours. On Nemagard.
