Among modern nectarines, this is probably the favorite. Extraordinarily sweet among all peaches and nectarines, with true nectarine flavor, white skin and flesh, some purple mottling; dense, rich, saturated with a syrup-like juice. A product of the Armstrong Nurseries’ breeding program and one of their few varieties adapted to northern not southern California conditions. A challenge to grow in commercial quantities, Snow Queen is much better suited for garden culture. With Snow Queen it is necessary to irrigate with care and prone to russet and cracking if overthinned. Notwithstanding, the variety remains among our most popular varieties.
